Dr. Dobb's article about QP-nano
This Dr. Dobb's online article describes a method and software for implementing UML statecharts in C, small enough to fit a low-end 8-bit microcontroller. More specifically, it presents a nontrivial UML statechart example, implemented with QP-nano, that runs on the USB Toolstick from Silicon Laboratories with room to spare (8051-derivative, 256 bytes of RAM, 8KB of Flash). The example has been implemented with QDK-nano for 8051.

QP-nano v1.2 supports fully preemptive multitasking
The latest release of QP-nano v1.2.00 pushes the envelope further by incorporating optimized hierarchical event processor (QEP-nano), event-driven framework (QF-nano), and now also a preemptive, deterministic, real-time kernel (QK-nano) in less than 1KB of code. In fact, the standard distribution of QP-nano now contains the PELICAN crossing example running on eZ430-F2013 USB stick from TI (128 bytes of code and only 2KB of Flash ROM).
